The room I stayed in was a perfect sanctuary of comfort and luxury. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with modern amenities, creating an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. The attention to detail in the room’s design added to the overall sense of luxury.

While my experience was overwhelmingly positive, there was an unexpected turn when I tested positive for COVID. Due to a recent change in policies allowing self-quarantine, I was surprised to be moved to a designated quarantine facility. This incident, while challenging, did not overshadow the excellent service and comfort provided by Hotel Royal Hsinchu, though it is hindering me from giving a five star review.

Read moreThe room was 7 out of ten, we appreciate the upgrade; the carpet was very dirty. Does the house keeping department have a vacuum cleaner? We noticed a cleaner on her hands and knees in the lobby cleaning up the Christmas display. To maintain carpet, you need to vacuum and steam clean regularly. We adjusted the air conditioner for several times but it kept coming to 22 degree so we didn’t get a good night sleep. The room was stuffy and we were sweating under the doona. Generally speaking, the hotel looked and felt tired and old. The pool area was nice but lacked atmosphere and ambience. The plastic plants are lack of upkeep detracted from what should have been a highlight. The staff were friendly and helpful. Perhaps the more disappointing part was the breakfast. The dining room facilities were lovely; however that’s where five stars experience ended. The coffee was lukewarm which matched the food on the buffet. The sausages, bacon and eggs were nearly cold. The chef was busy cutting up onions instead of insuring the food was hot and prepared fresh. Perhaps less staff opening the door and more staff in the kitchen preparing fresh food would help. Read more2nd time to stay here due to room availability. However, it is disappointing on their service level. The room is great and clean. Very comfortable room but the toilet is rather small and be careful you may knock or kick something especially you may wake up middle of the night for toilet. The worst is the breakfast provided with limited choice of food. The attitude of the service was so bad.. I can down around 7am and asked them to cook me a bowl of noodle. I waited and waited but after so Long and they took the ingredients to cook. Then he went to attend other stuffs like making pancake .. went back several times and the noodle yet to be ready. I don’t bother to ask anymore as the noodle probably overcooked by now. Then I asked for fried eggs and realise the egg fried with black burnt. I asked them to fried another egg but it took forever . Seem the counter is too busy with many things like pancake, cooking noodle , pancake etc.. however, I didn’t see anyone in the queue for any ordering except me... strange and disappointing! I won’t come back to stay here for sure. They need to benchmark Ambassador and Sheraton Hsinchu...
