I don't know why people in the name of Indian cuisine fool the innocent Taiwanese that makes them think that Indian cuisine is actually very expensive. I once ordered Chicken Leg Biryani from Ubereats and it was a big rip-off. This small bowl of biryani with just a single piece of chicken costs 319 NTD. Lately, my labmates were very much eager to try Indian food so they managed to order the non-veg student set that costs 149 NTD. I could see how disappointed they were as the set had just 2 plain naans and a very small bowl of chicken curry with two extremely small pieces of chicken. It is worth mentioning that the price of raw chicken is way more cheaper here than what we get in India. Moreover, with 149 NTD you can have a proper steak meal in a very good restaurant in Taiwan. I had to apologize to my friends on behalf for the experience. Such incidents hamper the reputation of Indians and makes us look greedy in front of the Taiwanese. Ultimately, students like me suffer at the end of the day. My request to the owner is please don't treat students as beggars. If you wish to sell your food at higher price, it is perfectly okay until and unless the quantity is enough worth spending. This will only increase the footfall in your restaurant and help remove this stereotype that Taiwanese have...
Read moreHeard good things about this place but it did not go well. We ordered 3 dishes and the first two took 30 minutes. Kind of long but it was fine because I assume they were busy. Dishes were good but expensive, the prawn quite small and only 4 of them in the curry. We wait another 30 minutes for the last dish. It never shows up. I finally asked the waiter where it is. He doesn’t know. Seems it was never made.
We had to leave so I just had them make it to go. Wait longer. When checking out, they asked me how the food was. Obviously I tell them not so good because they forgot a dish lol.
The worker gives us the tab and the manager is right there listening…this is your chance to make the situation better! Possibly take off the service charge for the poor service or literally do anything to make things better. Nothing was done so that’s why there is a...
Read moreI'm shocked to see some of the poor reviews over here. This is, IMO, the best Indian restaurant in Hsinchu.
I've tried the following items:
(1) Aloo Masala Dosa (5/5): Super authentic and they don't skimp on the filling. The sambar and chutneys are great too.
(2) Paneer Masala Dosa (5/5): Same as the above. The paneer filling is great!
(3) Kadai Veggies (5/5): Stir fried veggies in the classic kadai sauce!
(4) Dal Khichdi (5/5): This is SO hard to find in Taiwan and they do justice to this classic, homely dish. It is so full of flavor!
(5) Naan (5/5): The texture is perfect!
To add to this, the owner is super friendly and helpful, and even accommodates special requests when asked. The price is very reasonable IMO.
For first time visitors, I'd recommend trying their South Indian items (dosas!) onsite to get the best...
