走完大學池後可以坐在林區裡面休憩吃點小東西的小賣部，食物本身不算差，來這邊本來就不是奢求多高貴的食物，而是能在走到累的時候，能有一個地點可以稍微填補一下空虛的肚皮及腸胃，已經是實在的一大滿足，點了一個紹興香腸，剛烤好的香腸實在很燙，但是一邊嘗食一邊享受林邊風景也是不錯的一種體驗。除了香腸之外也有販賣竹筒飯，關東煮，肉粽，烤地瓜跟冰淇淋，冷泡茶，汽水等容易準備的食物，對於奔波了山區一天的人來說，其實還不錯，吃完還可以直接到旁邊的大學池接駁車站坐車，前往到服務中心的路上，實在是很方便。裡面也有洗手間跟便當店，可以給需要的人享用參考。

多數遊客選擇園區步道健行,大學池路線總是首選,終點有個休息站就座落於大學池旁,有洗手間與小吃飲食販賣部,也有座位供遊客休息飲食,洗手休息後就可輕鬆的在大學池旁悠閒逛逛,大學池上虹形竹橋是招牌影像,沒來此照張相等同肉腳,不要跟人家說你有來溪頭.大學池池水清澈,池面無風平靜如鏡,遊客可走上竹橋與竹橋/樹木的倒影合影,可說隨便怎麼照都漂亮...只是販賣部旁邊的灌木,有很多不怎麼怕人的松鼠出沒,因為時常有人餵養食物,實在不該如此,何況同時出現十來隻松鼠,看起來也是有點不可愛的...
