This was one of the few restaurants in the area open past 8 pm, so we chose to have our dinner here.
It was a bit tough communicating with the owner lady as she either didn’t really speak Mandarin or didn’t want to (likely she was mostly uttering Taiwanese), so we kind of just winged our order. I also asked for warm water to drink and she just told me no water. But she did give my Indian friend a free whiskey shot 😅
By Taiwanese standards, the food was quite expensive at 1360 NTD for 4 dishes, and the portions weren’t that big. We liked everything—Hakka Stir Fry, XO Scallop and Shrimp, shredded pork noodles—except for Grandma’s Cooking pork dish. The soup was a bit grainy and thick, consisting of pork bits. The spare pork ribs were rubbery and not super appetizing either.

Located about 10 min by walk from Zhongshan MRT station and Raohe Night market, away from the touristic area which is actually a good thing. The retro atmosphere of the restaurant takes you to another time which antiquities, Old Taiwanese candies, toys and movie posters.
