Staff is a mixed bag. I mostly remember the 阿姨 who prefers to argue with you, but there was a guy (30-40 maybe?) who was pretty friendly. Overall wouldn't recommend this place, I think even sleeping at a 7-Eleven or Macdonald's is less bad. Found two small cockroaches in my room (one alive, one dead), the lock was broken so they gave me another room for a night while they fix the original one, but that one has a broken toilet (it barely flushed at all, and the water level would rise first before flushing. Required 5-6 flushes to get rid of stuff). The cleaning lady told me not to flush toilet paper down, despite having a sign reading "no not flush anything APART from toilet paper" (in English even). I'm sure that would've smelt great... Eventually I got my old room back, but the bedsheets were not clean at all, and there was a weird smell (which was there before, but I mistakenly assumed you could just open the window for a bit and it's going to be fine). I eventually got a refund for the remaining days I've booked, but it took until the end of the month to arrive, and the owner took 500$ because I threw away the paper receipt she printed (it's a hotel, and I've ordered online so I have an...
Read moreWhen I made this booking, I saw that check-in time was 7:00pm to 11:00pm. We ended up not showing up until around 1:30 in the morning. As we were walking to the check-in the receptionist just started shaking his head at us and said no. I asked about our reservation and he said that because we didn't come by 11, it was cancelled. Other than the check-in time, there was nothing on my booking confirmation saying that our reservation would be cancelled. He said he had a different room we could use that is cheaper, and something about not having a bathroom, and I thought that he assured us there was one outside of the room. We agreed because we had no other options at 1:30am. The room had a bathroom, but the only thing that worked in the bathroom was the sink. The shower handles were detached and placed at the other end of the tub. The toilet didn't flush. The bed was comfortable and the outlets worked. There was no toilet that I could see in...
Read moreThe hotel is very old, and definitely need some renovations, especially to get rid of the mould appearing in many places. The majority of the rooms have no windows, and those that do have windows, would be facing the wall of the next building right in front of the window. (touching distance). So, having a window is only for fresh air and not for viewing purposes. You have to bring your toiletries, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shavers, etc...though they do have a Dollar Store across the street where you can get them cheaply. But the location is definitely the best for me because it is right in front of the most famous night market, and the MTR/Subway, bus stop and YuBike rental station is also just in front of the...
