燧人炊事Catching Fire — Restaurant in New Taipei

Catching Fire restaurant in Taiwan is nothing short of a culinary adventure! My wife stumbled upon this gem during CNY celebrations and couldn't stop raving about it, so naturally, I had to see what all the fuss was about.

This place is like no other – with Chinese cuisine downstairs, Western delights upstairs, and an ambiance that's as inviting as it is electric. And let me tell you, meeting Steve, the mastermind behind it all, was like meeting a culinary maestro.

Now, onto the dishes! We went for the Tuneric Seafood Risotto and a mouthwatering prime beef steak. The risotto was a flavor explosion, although this traditionalist wouldn't have minded a splash of white wine to elevate it even further. But that steak? Absolutely flawless, and the sides were a perfect match.

But hey, every masterpiece has its critics, right? Some might argue that the risotto could've used a tad more finesse with the choice of rice, while others might say it's sacrilege to mess with tradition. But in the end, it's all about personal taste.

Kudos to Steve and his team for delivering an unforgettable dining experience. If we find ourselves back in Taiwan, you can bet Catching Fire will be at the top of our list –...

An independent new building renovated from an old traditional one that makes your dining experience being nice and special . Really elegant, luxurious renovation .

Nice view and spacial environment.

Plenty of car parks in primary school and park 3 side.

Food and Drink: Utensil - the glass is very elegant as Double wall. Plates and bowls are iron ceramic that full of texture. Pour over Irgachefe- In good quality, followed with 2 Pieces of green tea red bean bread and a cup of small soda water to purify your mouth first. 👍👍👍 Spaghetti- 👍👍👍👍👍 Pizza 👍👍👍👍👍 Yogurt - 👍👍👍👍 Sparkling water with passion fruit -👍👍👍👍👍 BBQ sirloin- 👍 a bit dry

As I bring my young girl in and not suitable for western food, the young man waiter is so considerable and provides a chinese menu which located in their B1 . They even accompany me to B1 and choose. Service is so so nice!!

The food was okay. I felt like it was a little bit blend.

However the service was a bit disappointing. The staff told us the last order time it 6:50 and you can eat until 7:50. We were a party of 3, however we were still waiting for the third person to arrive, as we told the staff. At around 6:30 they were hurrying us to order. As we got our food, it also seemed that they rushed us to finish. The staff came to us, while we were eating, and asked us to pay so they can finish counting their sales for the day. 10 minutes later the staff came to us and asked if we still need to use the bathroom cause they wanna close it. At this time it was maybe like 7:10pm? I understand you want to get off work, but rushing your guests to finish their food, asking them to pay while eating and asking if we need to use the bathroom was a bit rude when they clearly told us we can eat until 7:50. It definitely had an impact on our dining experience as we felt rushed to...
