Visited here the day after its opening for dinner, felt disappointed to find that the overall experience we had on that day couldn’t meet expectations.
We ordered “chicken biryani”, “butter chicken”, “plain naan”. They additionally served us 2 pieces of fried snacks (I think they might be “samosa”), for free. (Since we didn’t take any picture, the item name and price info below were referred to the menu photos from other posts.)
chicken biryani(印度香料雞肉炒飯, NT$279):Indian-flavored rice with chicken on the bone, both rice and chicken taste a bit dry. It’s just not worth NT$279 for us. butter chicken(奶油咖哩雞, NT$279):It tasted good, however we were really shocked by the small portion. We knew that the rice wasn’t included, expected the portion (curry only) should match its price NT$279, but failed. Plus, we found there were so many chopped bones in the sauce, which we didn’t expect… In my personal opinion, this situation should be mentioned/remarked on the menu, or without being careful, chopped bones could be dangerous especially for children and elderly people. plain naan(普通印度麵包, NT$59): It seemed the photo of this item wasn’t on the menu, and we were misled by the word ”麵包”. We didn’t think it’s proper to translate it “麵包” in Chinese, “烤餅“ or “薄餅” would be better. Just as its name, it tasted “plain”, and too thin/small to enjoy curry sauce with it.
Brief summary:All the dishes cooked in ordinary flavor. But considered the small food portion, normal food presentation and the family-style ambiance, chicken biryani and butter chicken were too overpriced. The current menu needs update for clear communication and reference (translation, photos, etc.).
To avoid misunderstanding caused by Google translation, I tried to leave my comment in English.
Believe that the owner put a lot of effort into the operation, however as your early customers, we didn’t really feel it and couldn’t understand the positioning strategies of this restaurant. Knowing it’s not easy to run a business, especially in a foreign country and so far you are not able to speak local language well. While to investigate the market / potential customers is still a must-do thing, early customers shouldn’t be treated like lab rats.
Rating 1 or 2 stars means we were really not satisfied with the dining experiences, those feelings / feedbacks were real, from bottom of our hearts, and yes, they were subjective for sure. All the authentic opinions should be...
Read morePlease please please!! Here these peoples love India and Indian foods. They don’t know the real taste of Indian foods. They just heard it “Indian Curry is delicious” so they willing to eat in your restaurant. I am really regretting it to enter in your restaurant. If you don’t know what is “Chicken curry and the ingredients then please read Wikipedia, it’s an onion based curry. You just boiled chicken is water until it ready to leave the bone and added in coconut paste with spices” and you telling me “Every restaurant is different”? Are you doing business or kidding with customers? Most pathetic taste I ever tasted. After I inform the restaurant the taste is really bad they just added double “garam masala” and given me new “Chicken curry in coconut paste” which made it dark colored because of heavy masala. Please also know that the pictures in the menu is just for luring us, it’s totally different what we will get. It’s was said by the lady in the shop counter.
I am sorry but I will never eat in your restaurant again. Thank you😞 And recommendation for you I will say it again, please eat in other Indian restaurants in Taiwan or India first and then grade yourself. Don’t tell me every restaurant is different and I should not compare your restaurant to others. Learn to respect customers and understand your mistakes. Please don’t speak every restaurant is different so you can give anything to customers to eat. See your rice too in the picture. In my life I never got such rice like that over cooked.
Adding to your reply If you think your cook is from 5star restaurant then please ask him to learn to cook. Because I cook better than him. So I should a cook from 7 star restaurant? And if you think I was happy to eat your food please see CCTV again and see if I finished it. And your chicken was breaking up by just picking up. And for your kind information I ate in almost all Indian restaurants in Taiwan. Not a single taste such bad. Also even a Taiwanese restaurant can give better...
Read moreThe biryani is bland. The mixed raita was served in the tiniest bowl you could ever imagine, which was good for two spoons of biryani rice. The waiter didn't understand English as I had to repeat my requests three times every single time. I used to come to this restaurant six months ago, and the service was better as the owner used to be there. The biryani tasted better, too. Maybe my standards for mutton biryani and mixed raita are too high. Generally speaking, this restaurant is good because it's near my current residence, and it has the flavours of an Indian vibe when you crave for it while you're in Xindian. The toilet situation is...
