Our tour guide recommended this place while we went to the Qingjing farm, and mentioned that this is one of the top restaurants in the area with good food and nice scenery.

We ordered the fish set to share. Although its stated as a set for 2, I think 4 pax can comfortably eat this set. It has 2 fish dishes, a vegetable dish, an egg dish, a huge pot of fish soup, accompanied with a bucket of rice. The fish dishes were cooked using one whole fish.

I thought the fish was cooked spectacularly, it was fluffy and soft to eat, and both the stir fry and steamed fish dishes hit the spot. The soup was equally tasty. We opted for the ginger soup, and it surprised me at how fresh and refreshing it tasted.

Definitely one of the more memorable meals we had in Taichung area, and the bonus was a good...

Restaurant with balcony seats overseeing the reservoir. Cute views but limited food options that is on the pricier end.

We got the fish set for 2 to feed the table of 4 adults (think it was NT 1000+). Serving size was big so the food ordered was more than sufficient. We got the fish cooked sweet & sour style. The cook uses the fish bones to make the soup. Overall all dishes tasted just like local Taiwanese home cooked food but everything was just a tad too oily for my liking. Lots of bones in the fish so it was tough to eat, esp for someone like myself who’s bad at picking out fish bones.

Not a bad place to stop for lunch if you’re driving up to go to...

Dishes ordered: 甕仔鸡 盐酥虾 蒜炒芥兰 葱煎蛋 Sauteed pork (TWD 1600 Set Meal)

The signature dish here would be the chicken, which were roasted in big earthen pots outside the restaurant. It is served whole on a wooden plate with plastic and cloth gloves. You're supposed to tear the chicken apart while praying that your fingers are not scalded. The chicken is cooked lightly salted and tender.

They do not use much seasoning on the dishes and you get very natural flavours. The food is yummy because the ingredients are fresh.

Apart from that, the view is breath taking.

Excellent view, a little pricey for Taiwanese food, but the food is...
