Baires Ice Cream — Restaurant in Shilin District

I am so disappointed in what Baires has become. I knew the original owners when they opened this business, and it is FAR from what it used to be. Two things stand out as absolutely unacceptable: 1- the place looks like someone's cluttered living room, not a place of business. I am shocked that a table that sits two is completely covered in junk, unusable by paying customers. Counters with piles of stuff. What tipped it over the edge, though, was A PAIR OF SHOES laying there, like someone just took them off. Nasty to look at, especially a place where people eat. 2- there's very little sitting area, and when our group of three came in, one table was covered in junk (the one mentioned above), one was behind a counter that normally sits outside which rendered it almost unusable, and the other, which would normally sit four, had a gentleman who appears to be the owner. Did he realize him reading his papers prevented three paying customers from sitting and enjoying their ice creams? No, he didn't realize we had little place to go with our cones, and he did not offer us a place to sit and be comfortable.
