Came here a few times already - each time introducing new friends to this awesome location. Not expensive, conveniently located, awesome food and friendly staff ~
The food at the Pita Bar is very good. The eggplant appetizer (forgot the name) is out of this world! Highly recommend ordering it. Any of the "wrap" options are fantastic - both the meat and the falafal variants. If you are a vegetarian, there are plenty of options as well.
What puts this place over-the-top is how friendly the staff is. Every time we went, we were greeted with happy, smiling faces from very nice people who made you feel truly welcome in the restaurant. The owner too is extremly nice to talk to, if you are lucky enough to see him while you are there. All of this makes you feel like you are at home when you're there and you can feel comfortable while you eat with no one rushing you out, no one rolling their eyes, etc.
My suggestion while you are there (and keep in mind, this might be too much food, but it will be worth it) is to order a few appetizers (maybe 3 or 4 in a group of 4 people - including hummus (obviously), the eggplant dish and any other option that looks good that day. Then order a soup (I enjoyed the Lentil soup) and a standard meal. On top of that, get the lemonade. Had it 3 times and 3 times I was surprised by how fresh it tasted.
Thank you guys for making my experience rememberable each time I've visited and you will definitely be seeing more of me...
Read moreI went there with a friend and was expecting good food but found GREAT food. We each ordered a meal, I ordered the beef and mutton and she ordered the chicken liver. So let's go over the meat first because I have had better salads and I really watch the carbs so the pita is not as important to me. But the food and the meat is. And everything about it was right. The beef and mutton came with a side of beautiful mashed potatoes. The meat was very tasty with caramelized onions cooked to perfection in olive oil with tomatoes or perhaps sundried tomatoes. Hard to say which kind of tomatoes were used. But seeing that the onions were properly caramelized was a surprise in and of itself. People get away with so much bad cooking that it's refreshing to see someone do it right. She ordered chicken liver. The liver came on a bed of hummus that I assume is made in the restaurant. The hummus was terrific, and the liver was so good. You can tell that the cook put a lot of love into the creation of this dish. And it's just nice to see that much pride and heart go into their work. The service was fast and friendly, the staff was attentive but not invasive. I will be back again and again and...
Read moreThe overall experience was good, the falafels are delicious, the hummus is a bit too lemony to my taste but I liked the texture and the nice chickpea feeling. However the pita was served cold instead of toasted. Even though it’s their way to do, the service staff doesn’t even ask our preference. The onion rings were good, nothing exceptional, and serve plain unseasoned and only with ketchup on the side.
Which brings me to the bill : almost 500 NT$ for a hummus/falafel plate and a portion of onion rings, which are worth 150$, never seen onion rings that expensive ! And of course including a 10% service fee that doesn’t appear anywhere on the menu.. only on the blackboard above our heads.
Service that’s almost inexistant and pretty cold. The staff feels like in a hurry to complete their orders and disappear once their tasks in the front of store is done. No napkins at our tables, we had to stand up to help ourselves. Once we’re done, we basically go to pay and hardly get any greetings from anyone.
I don’t understand why we have to pay 10% extra fee for a service that makes no difference than most local...
