I'm not one to write reviews often, but went today and had to share...Heard this place re-opened and was excited to come back as I enjoyed the environment and the food was pretty decent. Don't know if there's new ownership now, but the food was honestly ridiculously overpriced and underwhelming. Minimum purchase of 750nt per person (but was 520nt for our party maybe because we had 11 adults and some kids). Lowlights of the meal (sorry, didn't take pics) were a plate with maybe 10 cut pieces of imitation crab meat accompanied by small chunks of honeydew melon served on a bed of watercress for 380nt and hot pot style fish/squid balls cut in half (equating to a whopping 6 balls!) and served on cucumber slices also for 380nt. Total bill was well over 8000nt and every person was disappointed and hungry afterwards. Honestly, the best thing was the pitcher of lemon tea (280nt). I'd say the quality was below that of a 99nt quick stir fry restaurant (快炒) with the price tag of a wedding banquet restaurant. Really a big difference from the restaurant I remember visiting pre-covid. They probably need to make big adjustments, otherwise I can't see it surviving in the competitive restaurant environment...
Read moreThe worst restaurant in Taiwan with no hospitalities in our 36days travel in Taiwan! Lucky it's the only BAD one to date.
Visited this place for a good meal but was TOTALLY disappointed! Not a place for solo and independent traveler. Seem to be only catered for tour groups and big families and BIG $$$. High-end course menus. Staff not interested as there are only 2 of us, when request for photographing the interesting surrounding, a flat rejection. Highlighted no course order=no photos. No offer of drinks ordering only too. Filthy entrance.
To the management - You have a nice and interesting restaurant but your staff and services fail totally. There are hundreds others better restaurants in Taiwan. Return? no way....
Read moreBanana New Paradise. Interesting deco the old days, food not sure cuz i didnt have a chance to. I came for lunch at around 1pm and was feedbacked that i had to wait for 20mins for seat but even when i got the seat then, i'd be left with just dimsum, the main alacarte items would be sold out. Still not sure how things work down here and whether they're doing dinner. Not sure also what the hype and long waiting line outside the restaurant were all about. So all i can say is that time yourself if you prepare to make your trip down here to avoid...
