This is the best grilled barbecue restaurant in all of tainan. The Japanese style of grilling different cuts of beef pork and shrimp make this the best aromatic and high-end eatery in town. I've eaten at this restaurant several times in the past, and each and every single time both the quality of their food, the cuts of beef, the cuts of pork, and the selection of fresh seafood never fails to amaze me each and every single time I dine here. In addition, the service here is excellent, and the attention to detail from the hostess all the way up to the shift manager acknowledges their mission to provide you the best experience for your fine dining. This is suitable for business travelers, leisure holiday travelers, and weekend family celebrations as well as anniversaries and special occasions. The weight is very long because the quality of service and the caliber of gourmet food is second to none. I recommend getting the set combo meals, and not upgrade to the 3600 combo set because they're $1,600 combo set is plenty of food to satisfy any appetite. Especially for a couple travelers, this is a great establishment for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and New Year's holidays. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and always make a reservation at least 72 hours in advance in order to ensure a booking on both the day and time slot of your choice. I would give this restaurant both two thumbs up and two big toes up, that is how much I...
Read moreOverall a pleasant experience. It was very crowded that day as it was a local holiday period. The waiting time was around 2 hours so you are strongly advised to make a reservation in advance.
Service was very good, the food was nice and what I like most is the ventilation system they have in the restaurant where you do not have an exhaust fan hanging over your charcoal stove.
It was full house so I was mentally prepared to wait for the food to be served. To our pleasant surprise, it was served within 20 minutes.
The menu was in Chinese and in this country and in Tainan, what do you expect right? I was in doubt so I asked the staff some questions on the food items and the staff explained patiently even though it was a full house night. I spoke Mandarin, of course.
I would like to say to some diner who reviewed negatively, and said the staff took too long to serve the food and he/she could not understand the menu. Maybe a foreigner like you should just go Taipei or skip Taiwan altogether.
It was a very good experience for my wife and I in Tainan and at this Fuqian...
Read moreGreat food and surprisingly good value considering the quality of both the meat and the facilities.
However: I still have to give this restaurant the lowest available rating for other reasons. Tried making a reservation for a Sunday evening, but only Saturday at 9 pm was available according to the rep. Begrudgingly accepted despite this being much later than we'd prefer. For whatever inexplicable and frankly unacceptable policy, we ended up waiting outside the restaurant along with dozens of other patrons for another hour and fifteen minutes despite our reservation. If we were starving at 9 pm, no comment necessary for how we felt at 10.15 pm after getting massacred by mosquitos waiting.
Had I known that a reservation doesn't mean what a reservation is supposed to mean, I'd have gone somewhere else. The food is good, but it's not worth the wait. Go somewhere where they respect the customer and don't waste her/his...
