The worst Jiangzhe 江浙 restaurant I have experienced in Taipei !! From taste to service is all pretty bad, maybe the so called No1 chef must have left. Hot dishes taste like reheat from microwave. Bitter melon starter dish was sweet with a weird red sauce over it. 油爆鱔魚 was without the hot oil and tasted fishy. Shanghainese vegetable fried rice was very oily. Pineapple prawns were not fully cooked and we returned the dish. It should have been an enjoyable lunch as it is my mother’s birthday, but it is so disappointing.

Trying the Braised Pork Belly at the recommendation of a friend, and it exceeded expectations. Comparable in quality to Hangzhou West Lake Dongpo Pork, its delightful sweetness and well-balanced fat content left no greasy aftertaste. While Dongpo Pork and Guobao make an excellent pair, my personal preference is Dongpo Pork with plain white rice. Visiting Taiwan in September, BIL and family treated me to there; it’s not vegan friendly restaurant.
