PRESERVE Tianmu — Restaurant in Taipei

Came here for lunch. We arrived at 12 and were seated upstairs. Firstly, upon looking at the menu we noticed many items were sold out. This was on a Saturday. The busiest time of the week and this place had many items sold out.

Secondly, I waited 35 minutes for pancakes. The other people were almost finished with their meals. What is the point of going out with friends when you don’t eat together.

Thirdly, if I am going to pay service fee. I expect service. The waiter only came around 1 time to give us water. Plus seeing as we order on QR the waiter doesn’t even need to interact with us. What service is being provided exactly?

I ate for the first time in Preserve back in March when visiting my mom and really enjoyed the food! I’m back again in Taiwan and took my daughter and my mom for lunch. The ambiance is nice and bright, and the service is good.

My mom ordered the Gran Slam, my daughter had the chef’s salad, and I ate the black rice and kale salad (my favorite!). For drinks we enjoyed the triple berry banana smoothie, the Oreo chocolate banana smoothie, and the café latte.

In the past, we’ve had the tuna salad avocado toast, which was delicious, and a couple of their pastas, but they were too bland for my taste. I love their breakfast, salad, smoothies, and coffee! Great place for lunch...

This is a vegetarian restaurant with very limited vegan selection (probably less than 10% of the entire menu).

Each dish comes out in 5 to 8 minutes increment. The radish cakes and Falafels are good. The Japanese styled Buddha bowl is served with white rice. I have had Buddha bowls in many different restaurants in Taipei. This is the only one served with white rice. The flavor overall is decent. However, the roasted vegetable dish is not so good. Some of the brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes are undercooked and almost raw. The cauliflowers are cold.
