mita'ay — Restaurant in Taitung City

We thought this place was a bar with small dishes. But, we're pleasantly surprised that it has full sized dishes too. We (2) ordered a plate of tea smoked duck breast, and a grilled chicken thigh dinner set. Both were fantastic! The set menu comes with a bowl (~8oz) of creamy ginger and vegetable soup, a block of tofu w/ dried konbu, 2 small dishes of mixed vegetables, a shot glass of drinking vinegar, the crispy chicken thigh is in top of a generous bowl of brown rice. All for NT$360! Then, there's the fabulous smoked duck. Very tasty, a whole breast, it has a drizzle of light sauce on it. Small side salad with their house made vinaigrette. We went here out of boredom on one night out. We did not expect a lot since this is one of the few places that was still open around 11pm ish. The bartender asked what we would like to drink and also our mood of the night. We also ordered a tiramisu. Surprisingly the drink and the dessert paired so well together. We ended up sitting at the terrace and enjoyed the ambience of the place. There’s not a minimum spending per person with this place. The cocktail is amazing and definitely would go...
