During our layover at Taiwan Airport, we decided to grab a meal at Hao Hao Chi, and it was a great choice! We ordered the beef noodles with pork wonton soup and a boba tea, while my husband opted for the noodles without soup. The beef noodles were flavorful, with tender beef and a rich, savory broth that was comforting after a long flight. The pork wonton soup had well-seasoned dumplings with a delicate wrapper, adding to the heartiness of the meal. My husband’s dry noodles were just as good—chewy and coated in a tasty sauce that didn’t make them feel dry at all. To top it off, the boba tea was refreshing, with perfectly chewy pearls and a balanced sweetness. Overall, Hao Hao Chi was a solid choice for a quick and satisfying layover meal. If you’re passing through Taiwan Airport, it’s definitely worth a stop!

My companion and I both felt that the food at Hao Hao Chi in the Taipei airport was very mediocre and not particularly enjoyable. Also, the food descriptions weren't accurate. For instance, the shrimp dumplings were actually filled with a different meat (most likely pork), with a very tiny bit of shrimp. Additionally, we perceived the counter person as being pushy and aggressive, strongly trying to upsell us. Obviously, based on other reviews, many others feel differently about this establishment. It's certainly possible that you may enjoy your meal here (taste being a subjective thing). However, if you're uncertain about dining here, I would suggest first looking around at other food options in the airport (if you have the time to do so) before making a final decision.

I ordered what I think was the only vegetarian option on the menu. The main dish included some mildly spicy noodles topped with scallions, sliced cucumbers, and crushed peanuts. The noodles tasted good and we're cooked well. It was served with two sides, plain edamame and some tofu string noodles. The tofu string noodles were savoury and flavorful. It came with a milk tea and a sour plum juice. Overall the meal was quality, the service was polite, and the experience was very good. It's a bit expensive, but you're in an airport so you shouldn't be looking for great value necessarily. I spent about 10 USD/300 NTD, which is less than I would have spent for a full meal in a US airport. I would eat here again when flying through TPE.
