I almost never write bad reviews, but this time I feel like I have to, just to warn others. Calling this place a “restaurant” would be too generous – it’s nothing more than a cheap feeding trough. The atmosphere was disgusting, the place felt dirty, and it was hot and suffocating inside. I went with three friends, and despite plenty of empty tables, we were forced to sit at the bar. Ordering just a single burger or a smaller dish wasn’t even an option – everything had to be part of some massive, overpriced set menu. One of my friends didn’t want that and was basically kicked out, because apparently there’s a minimum spend of 85 NTD per person. If you don’t meet that, you’re shown the door. No sympathy, no flexibility – just pure greed. The whole time I had the impression they only cared about turning tables as fast as possible to squeeze out more money. And the food? Awful. My “bacon burger” came drowned in a pile of lukewarm, rubbery bacon, topped off with half a sad tomato as decoration. The only thing remotely edible were the fries – and that’s me being generous. This place is an absolute disgrace. Rude, soulless, and all about profit. I wouldn’t recommend it to my...
Read moreI go there once in a while because it's in my neighborhood. If you stay away from bacon, their food is generally good. It's not only them. A lot of "American Style" restaurants in Taiwan undercook bacon to an insane degree that you can see and taste the white soft fatty part. Not to mention it's not crispy at all. I'm not sure if you can talk them into making you crispy bacon. I've tried it once but failed.
I had a chicken bacon Caesar salad two weeks ago. I regretted the moment it got to my table. The aforementioned bacon problem aside, their choice of chicken is another problem often found in restaurants here. I've looked up recipes online and all of them use chicken breasts like what I used to eat in New York. However, we Taiwanese usually prefer chicken drumsticks or thighs over breasts, so most of the restaurants here serve what people like. This may work in some dishes, but not in a chicken Caesar salad.
Other than those problems, their burgers, panino and other salads are good. Their French fries are especially tasty. Stay away everything bacon and probably things you think they should use chicken breasts, you'll have a...
Read moreFood is great but honestly, the restaurant can run without those incompetent waiters/waitresses. Just keep the chef and make it self-serve officially.
detail: three waiters, two female, one male. Staff doesn't know English ( which is fine) but doesn't seem to know the menu either. My order was simple, peanut butter beef burger, Cesar bacon salad, ice milk tea. I spoke, pointed, spoke again, staff double checked and I still got iced tea. It'd be okay if the staff was an actual waiter. She was on the phone, cleaning, and delivering food at the same time. I'm not targeting any one of the three. The male staff responded to my signal and left me waiting. The female with gold hair is the multi tasking one, and the one with an accent doesn't understand ice milk tea. so in short,...
