Chonky Diner 肥貓漢堡 — Restaurant in Zhubei City

If I could give minus stars I would. NEVER COME HERE!!!!

For the SECOND time, after calling 2 days prior, and being told the restaurant will be open, when we arrived, they are actually closed. We also had friends coming all the way from Taipei to meet us.

Last time the door was locked, today it was half open, and when we knocked someone came out to tell us their system was down and they will only open after 2 hours! We asked to wait inside - no. Asked to speak to the owner, who was apparently inside - no. One waitress even closed the door in my face when I was complaining, how rude!

The second waitress was very polite and apologized for the inconvenience, however I cannot get over the incompetence of this place, and the carefree way they are trying to operate a business. We were informed that if they have a lack of staff, they will simply not open the shop on that day. And we have noticed they frequently change their business hours on Google, possibly that’s the reason.

The owner should speak to customers in this kind of situation, not leave it up to the staff. Very...

Nice diner with generous portions and delicious burgers. If you remember a popular place called Chubby’s at this location then you’ll know what to expect. In terms of menu choices it’s burgers, sandwiches, bbq, a bit of pasta, plus breakfast. Unusually they have some vegan and vegetarian options. I opted for a bbq burger and went with two patties (probably unnecessary). It was cooked to perfection, soft, juicy, with a touch of pink. The sauce was a bit too mustardy for my taste, but overall it was really good. It also came with a large portion of fries. The service was minimal - okish. The food came quickly. I used to really enjoy this place at its previous location—the food quality was consistently excellent. Unfortunately, my recent visit to their new location was a huge disappointment. The burger I was served was inedible: the patty and bun were old, dry, and completely lacking in flavor. It also just didn't look like the yummy burger I remember.
