Was very excited to visit this place at the end of our vacations, specially after reading the (personal) story of the place at the website and checking the menu. The quality of the meat was actually pretty food so it is kind of a pity that a number of things did not match it: The place was rather empty and the guy whom was serving (we think it is the owner) announced he was really tired because of the previous day. It did not really match the passion that was portrayed on the website. Note the place only opens between 18 pm and 12 am. Maybe consider hiring staff? It was terribly warm inside the restaurant - close to unbearable - very difficult to enjoy food in this way. The dishes that were ordered were served in the differently from what described in the menu. e.g. I ordered meat medallions in red wine and mushroom sauce and got mushrooms in cream sauce instead. The fries were frozen, needless to say this is not OK for a place that wants to serve high quality food. Drinks...

The food was a bit underwhelming considering its reputation for steak. It was not bad, but it was not what we had in mind when going to a restaurant for steak. They don't have any other cuts apart from fillet and the steak was served as cut pieces, almost like mishkaki, in the sauce. I asked for medium and got medium to well instead (a subtle difference that Dar steakhouses don't seem to get). Don't get me wrong, the sauce was delicious, and the quality of the meat was good too, but it felt amateur at best for a masaki priced restaurant - you really can't go wrong with some fillet and a garlic-butter-parsley combination.
Still on the hunt for some good...
Read moreI was immensely impressed with this restaurant, itâs more then a restaurant. My client Anisa Mpungwe chose this location for to introduce her new collection to Dar-es-Salaam. The management provided to the most impeccable hands on service. The finger food for the fashion show guests was simply delicious. What stood out was the the combination of spices and flavours. I have to mention the unique decĂłr. One could call it âupcyclingâ. The use of unfinished and unvarnished wood in the most unexpected places and ways really impressed me. The lighting, the hessian curtains. I would highly recommend this place to international...
