G’eez Hangout - Restaurant & Pizza — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

This Italian restaurant provides a consistently good experience, offering a wide selection of authentic Italian classics. From pasta to pizza and beyond, the kitchen clearly understands the fundamentals of Italian cuisine, and the results are impressive overall.

The Margherita pizza, which was slightly heavier in flavour than the traditional version — perhaps adjusted to suit Tanzanian palates — was still enjoyable. The cheese-to-sauce ratio leaned towards the richer side, but the crust had a pleasant texture and the balance of flavours worked well overall.

Pricing is one of the restaurant’s strongest points. Most dishes fall within the very reasonable range of five to six dollars, with hardly anything exceeding ten dollars. This makes it an especially attractive option for casual dining or travellers on a budget who don’t want to compromise on taste or variety.

The ambience is relaxed and welcoming, with semi-outdoor seating that provides an open-air feel without compromising on comfort. It strikes a nice balance between casual and charming, making it perfect for an informal lunch or dinner with friends.

The service was efficient — dishes arrived promptly, and the servers were attentive. However, one downside was the lack of staff intervention during a loud argument between some guests at a nearby table. This affected the otherwise pleasant atmosphere, and it would have been more reassuring to see staff step in to manage the situation.

New favourite! Actually, it used to be an old favourite when it was DJs. The atmosphere is still great and the milkshakes super! But the new menu is a win! In our group we had pizza which was legit and delicious, burgers with BACON which were very good and something from the BBQ menu which was also excellent! The coffee and tiramisu were a lovely way to finish. It is near the road but that didn’t bother us, you get the sounds of Dar without any hassle. Everything is well maintained and clean!
