Mezani Restaurant — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

Karibu game night at Mezani! Highly recommended as a chill out spot for those who live close by. Mezani (a clever use of the Swahili word for 'table') is always open from Thursdays to Sundays (at least during the time this review was written). Mezani's layout has 3 main zones; a food zone (indoors), an activities zone (indoors) and a chill zone ( outdoors, and intermediary between the other two zones).

I'll be honest Mezani comes off as average as far as food and interior design go, but where it truly excels is with it's activities; Karaoke Thursdays, Movie Fridays and my personal favourite Game Night Sundays where you'll have fun as a board game lover.

Most unique restaurant in Mbezi Beach! Great pizza, burgers and wings served very quickly from staff who are always cheerful and helpful. Everything is fresh and made to order. Their slogan “Eat in America without a passport!” Fits my experience exactly. Especially the burgers, the taste is spot on American burgers. Mmmmm. The food and service alone would easily put Mezani at the top of my list of places to eat in Dar. But what really makes this place stand out is the family friendly atmosphere and events. They have movie nights, game nights, karaoke and host community events like language classes, theater and tutoring. Very different in a good way....

We went to Mezani as it's nearby and had lots of glowing reviews. However, I would say that our experience was a bit disappointing compared with our expectations. Here are the plusses and minuses
