We recently had the pleasure of dining at Toranj in Dar es Salaam, and our experience was truly memorable on multiple levels. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were struck by the elegant ambiance and the warmth of the hospitality, which set the stage for what turned out to be an exceptional evening.
As three friends with varied tastes, we each chose different items from the menu, and every dish exceeded our expectations. I personally ordered the Boneless Joojeh Kabab, and I was delighted by the perfectly grilled chicken breasts that were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. One of my friends selected the Koobideh, savoring the rich, well-seasoned flavors that showcased the authentic culinary traditions of Persian cuisine. Our vegan companion opted for a fresh, artfully composed salad, which was as visually appealing as it was delicious. Complementing our meals was a serving of Dooghâa refreshing drink that enhanced our dining experience and provided a delightful contrast to the savory dishes.
Beyond the food, the overall atmosphere at Toranj was simply enchanting. The decor and setting exuded a sense of refined elegance, and the location, conveniently adjacent to the Turkish Embassy, added an unexpected layer of charm to our visit. The attention to detail in the restaurantâs interior design and the meticulous presentation of each dish reflected a commitment to excellence that did not go unnoticed.
The service we received throughout the evening was equally commendable. The staff were attentive and professional, ensuring that our every need was met without ever being intrusive. Their deep knowledge of the menu and genuine passion for the cuisine contributed to an engaging and enjoyable dining experience that felt both personal and thoughtful.
In summary, our visit to Toranj was a delightful blend of outstanding food, inviting ambience, and impeccable service. The entire experience was a celebration of Persian culinary artistry and left us feeling both satisfied and inspired. We wholeheartedly recommend Toranj to anyone in search of a dining experience that is as professional as it is personal, offering a perfect escape into the rich flavors and warm traditions of...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting Toranj Restaurant, a delightful destination for authentic Persian cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by its warm and inviting ambiance. The décor was a perfect mix of traditional Persian elements, including intricately patterned rugs, elegant lanterns, and beautiful tile work, paired with a modern touch that created a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere.
The meal began with a starter of Kashk-e-Bademjan, a creamy eggplant dip with a rich, smoky flavor, garnished with fried onions, walnuts, and mint oil. It was paired perfectly with fresh, warm bread. For the main course, I chose the Chelo Kabab Koobideh, served with fragrant saffron rice, grilled tomatoes, and a side of yogurt. The kabab was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, while the rice was aromatic and fluffy, making for a delightful combination.
To conclude the meal, I indulged in Faloodeh, a refreshing Persian dessert made with vermicelli noodles, rosewater, and lime juice. Its unique blend of sweet and tangy flavors was both light and satisfying, leaving me with a memorable last impression.
The service was exceptional throughout the evening. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to explain the dishes and their cultural significance. Their hospitality added a personal touch that elevated the entire dining experience.

Second â the staff were friendly, English was better than most places. They were accommodating. They could have explained the dishes to us, We ordered 2 x yogurt as separate dishes, not knowing our selections already came with yogurt so we had a lot of yogurt đ.
