Ocean Breeze Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Unguja

Exceptional food, service and atmosphere. Right on the water, Ocean Breeze should be taken literally. As the gorgeous soft breeze of the warm Indian Ocean soothes an 80 degree day, the warm and welcoming service at this lovely restaurant soothes and comforts the soul. The fruit served at breakfast was incredibly tasty and ripe. Delicious and nutritious! So was the fruit juice which was a combination of mango, pineapple, papaya and avocado- thick and tasty. The fish soup was wonderful and spicy but the fish satay blew me away! It was the best fish dish I have enjoyed in a long time. Perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. This Chef deserves a Raise!

Normally we don’t eat at restaurants that are part of a hotel because its often overpriced and not that special. But this one is different a true hidden gem!

We ordered a bottle of wine and a mixed sea food platter for 2 persons. The tuna was a bit overcooked but the Prawns, Calamaris were very good and the Lobster was really amazing (on picture it doesn’t look that good ;)).

As a dessert we took the brownie which was also exceptional. It was a long time ago we had a brownie this good.

The restaurant itself looks very good and the ambiance is really relaxed. Price / Quality ratio is also good in my opinion.

It’s a cozy spot inside a boutique hotel called Mayai Ocean Resort — by far the best service we’ve experienced in Zanzibar. The staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable.
