We found this gorgeous little restaurant on a wander down the beach to our hotel and we couldn't recommend it more. It's not a fancy restaurant and it's not luxury, but it's an amazing experience. A simple wooden shack with a beach view you simply couldn't beat. Service isn't fast, but when you've got that view and only the sound of the waves crashing against the beach to enjoy why would you be in any rush. And once the food does get to table it's worth the wait... we ordered the local vegetable curry... it was delicious and very generous portion.
The staff there were also a pleasure to meet. I lost something very valuable to me and contacted the restaurant to see if it was there. It turns out it was and they hand delivered it the hotel I was staying to get it back to me before I left Matemwe.
