We spent two wonderful weeks here and enjoyed every bit of it. Our host Roxana went out of her way to keep us happy (big biiig thank you!): she arranged airport rides for us, recommended us some great places and experiences (we were so happy to eat lunch at Bin Jabir, go to concerts at Bandas, go on trips with Laici), was always open to suggestions and helpful with what we needed on our trip (we were working remotely). The rooms are comfortable and clean, with nice touches like flowers or mosquitoes nets over the bed. Big bonus: chairs so comfortable out on the porch, I could easily take a nice afternoon nap. The place itself is 5 minutes away from the ocean, during lunch breaks we would go for a swim, and on full-moon nights we would take long safe walks on the beach. Breakfast was perfect - fresh coffee and fruits, plus a choice of eggs and vegetables. They also have a fridge where we could store some food and beverages.
Asante sana, Roxana! We'd love to come...
Read moreI absolutely loved my stay here, for so many reasons. Firstly, the host Roxana was so helpful, kind and accommodating. I try to stay away from the madness of big resorts and this was just what I imagined. Small, cosy, personal, authentic and tucked away. Within reach of exactly what I needed - the beach. I didn’t even bother wearing shoes, it was so close. There were some small boutique/restaurants on the beach if you fancied food or some drinks. The water was like a warm bath and so crystal clear. The sun so warm. There are 2 dive centres right next door which was a bonus too! The room had everything I needed, a very comfortable double bed with a mosquito net. Private shower room with towels provided. Access to the kitchen whenever I wanted to make coffee/tea etc. Wonderful breakfast served in the small communal area. My own little veranda. It was exactly what I needed after a busy trip in mainland Tanzania...
Read moreFirst of all it was a holiday last minute prepared because of Corona situation. We see a lot of picture from Matemwe area and these looks like from paradise. It is like paradise for real! Morningstar Bungalows are situated very close to a wild beach, maybe 50 meters and you will reach a wilde long beach with less turists and few local style restaurants and also nice restaurants for all tastes. You can have all range of styles just if you walk a little bit. The bungalows are very clean, nice and spacious with a generous bathroom. The african design bungalows are in a very quiet area, no noise around and the silence during a full moon night is unbelivebale. You can easy find all The Times a cheap taxi driver and safe.
