Somsak Claypot Crab @ Krung Thon Buri BTS — Restaurant in Bang Lamphu Lang Subdistrict

We came right when the place opened, so it was still quiet. The staff immediately led us to the air-conditioned room — probably saw we were sweaty 😅

We ordered: 🦀 1 Steamed Crab (egg) with Glass Noodle 🦐 1 Steamed Prawns with Glass Noodle

Both were tasty, savory with a nice aromatic touch from the spring onions you can spot in the photo. But if I had to choose, I’d go with the prawn. The broth felt richer and it was just easier to eat.

The crab was good too, but I’d only get it again if it was a big one — the smaller ones just don’t have enough meat and cracking the shell is too much work for too little reward 😂

The green dipping sauce was also flavorful. Portion-wise, it’s not huge for the price, but it was satisfying enough.

Clean space, not super close to the BTS but...

Horrible service. Refused to give us a table despite having a booking. Insisted we get the name of booking persons right. Reached at 530pm. Plenty of empty tables. Ordered beers and staff just left it on the table unopened. Lots of solid plates with empty shell not cleared, staff were just standing there. We had to tell them multiple times. We have pre ordered 12 items and we're only served 11 yet staff insisted we had 12. Really really disappointing.

The vermicelli was dry.

The good thing is the Prawns were very very fresh. The crabs were very sweet.

Alot needs to improve with the service & customer interaction.

This claypot crab has 3 branches as of 2023. This branch is nearest to MRT. Other branches gotta walk more than 20min from MRT or BTS. I am there to eat their vermicelli, tanghoon. Crab n shrimp, nothing much to say but the flavouring was quite nice. SG BOATT QUAY claypot shrimp shop taste is more peppery. This taste here is nice. Tang hoon n sauce is the main show, not seafood. Maybe need to try Their ROADSIDE OG. This branch has air con(6 tables) n outside sitting. (15 tables) n has car park for 10 cars.
