“Broken toy cafe”
That’s what my four year old son called this spot as we were eating lunch today.
Many people have hyped up Din Cafe, saying it was super chill and a great spot for kids, but now that I’ve seen it for myself, I have to disagree.
90% of the toys were broken and very worn. The tricycle (photo) was quite dangerous as it had multiple rusted metal parts. I’d say it’s better to not have any toys than to have broken ones. The swings were in working order.
Drink, kids udon soup, cake were all good. Pad Thai (their recommendation) was not seasoned. It was like eating plain noodles with crushed peanuts and chilli flakes.

Read moreI have to agree with the reviewer B.P. The Cafe of Broken Toys is a pretty appropriate nickname. Where are all the working toys? Seriously, where did they go?
That’s said, it is a very lovely space that’s well integrated with nature and the coffee is excellent every time!
Also, the Thai food, namely the Phad Krapao IS the best in Chiang Mai and the Phad Thai is top 5… and I am a huge snob when it comes to food and coffee so that’s saying something.
If the toys were plentiful and kept up I’d be happy to change my 4...
Read moreI had lunch and the food was really good. Big open area with mostly outdoor seating. The tea was great and hit the spot. My pesto pasta was very tasty. A bit on the small side but the flavors were definitely there. The staff were very nice and the food arrived pretty quick. The place seems clean. The prices were average and maybe up just a little bit,but certainly not excessive. I would recommend this spot to a friend. Try it...
