Delightful Dining at "LumDee Te KhuaDang"

Tucked away in the heart of Chiangmai, "LumDee Te KhuaDang" is a gem that offers an authentic taste of northern Thai cuisine with a modern twist. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff and seated in a cozy corner adorned with traditional Thai décor.

The menu at LumDee Te KhuaDang is a culinary journey through northern Thailand, featuring a variety of dishes bursting with flavor. We started our meal with the Special Platter, which showcased a colorful array of appetizers including sausage, pork rinds, and pork. Each bite was a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy—a true reflection of Thai culinary artistry.

To complement our meal, we enjoyed refreshing mango smoothies and finished with the Logan Ice cream.

The service throughout our dining experience was exceptional. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering recommendations.

Overall, our experience at LumDee Te KhuaDang was exceptional. From the ambiance to the cuisine, every detail was thoughtfully executed, leaving us with a desire to return and explore more of what this charming restaurant has to offer. If you're in Chiangmai and seeking an authentic Thai dining experience, look no further than...

Dined as a couple & spent ~$750 baht.

Not the cheapest of places but food quality more than makes up for it! Do note that their kitchen closes at 9.30pm!

So many interesting dishes that we wanted to try but we eventually decided on

  1. Young Jackfruit Curry with Pork: Unless you like really strong, sour, fermented flavours, avoid this! This is not for the faint of heart
  2. Hors D'oeuvres Meung: Loved this! Great platter of meats, vegetables + thai chilli dip! Chilli dips weren't super spicy, so that's a plus for us
  3. Fried Opilia Leaf: This was our favourite of the night! Crunchy, savoury, slightly sour. Must order!
  4. Longan Ice Cream with Young Coconut Sago: This was another winner for the night. Wish we had stomach for another dessert!

Will come back again when I'm...

Michelin Recommended for 5 straight years from 2021 to 2025 so it must be good right? Well it certainly is good! The Khaosoi and Namprik Ong are more familiar to Bangkokian palettes. Recommend trying the northern sausage. This place serves authentic traditional Northern Thai cuisine.

They have adequate parking space and there's a whole playground in the backyard (there's a slider from the second floor balcony down to the playground!) so it's great for a family visit with kids.

For such an amazing experience, it was surprisingly cheap. We ordered 1 Namprik Ong, one chicken Khaosoi, one sausage, one sweetsour sea bass, one minced pork soup, and it cost only...

Lumdee Te Khuadang is one of the well-known Northern Thai restaurants in Chiang Mai, recommended by the Michelin Guide. The food is authentic — my friends loved their Khao Soi, though I enjoyed some dishes more than others. What really stood out for me was their longan ice cream with puffed rice crisps — it’s absolutely delicious and the reason I’ve gone back! 🍨 The restaurant has ample seating and parking, great for families or groups. Service is friendly and the atmosphere relaxed — definitely worth a visit if you’re exploring Northern Thai cuisine in Chiang Mai.
