OK folks it’s your favorite epicurean, Fat Tony back to review restaurant GIOTTO. 75,000 views, and I’m still getting fatter. Tonight it’s restaurant GIOTTO. Let’s be clear from the start if you don’t like good food then turn the page because this one is a winner. The standard menu is sure to please from a variety of delicious al dente pastas, Beef lasagna, Bolognese, Aglio-olio and more. And Chiang Mai‘s most fantastic pizzas with a crispy crust and a delicious tomato sauce made in house. The toppings are carefully selected from the freshest ingredients. You know your boy Tony loves to be classic and goes for the Margarita but if you like salami, sausage, artichoke, spinach etc. this is the place for you to have a pizza. But we can’t eat pizza every day now so the restaurant offers amazing salads. Freshest ingredients made with creativity. Smoked salmon, Cesar with fresh prawns or grilled chicken, or the delicious simple garden salad with passion fruit . Seriously this is hard to find in Chiang Mai If you’re from the Midwest or Down Under they offer a generous Australian beef tenderloin that melts in your mouth. (please don’t ask the chef to cook well done !) Of course these are all items you can find on the standard menu. What stands out are the specials. Tonight I had Breton Number 2 Fin Claire oysters. My friends know I lived in Paris for 18 years and oysters were always on the table. Close my eyes and I felt I was right back there in the 6th arrondissement in Paris dining on fine oysters. The beef stew also stands out as an exception. Made with authentic Bourguignon wine and rich with vegetables and generous cuts of imported beef. Succulent lamb chops, fresh river trout and the best muscles in town round out today’s special menu. It doesn’t get better than this. Of course before you get started GIOTTO offers a mouthwatering gratin of spinach or crab. A side order of their handcrafted bruschetta is a must. They even offer hand cut handmade french fries if you have children or you are a child at heart. Fat Tony doesn’t eat desserts so that will be an adventure for you to discover when you have a fine dining experience at GIOTTO. I simply can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Five out of five stars all the way down the line. Ask for Khun Pu. The hostess with the most us will surely make your dining experience a pleasure. Readers I’ve never let you down before so when you’re in Chiang Mai and you want continental food give...
Read moreI only eat red meat once every month or two, so I need to make it count. Kin makes what is easily one of the best cheeseburgers in Chiang Mai, and it's certainly the best value. Huge portion size, Australian beef (perfectly seasoned and cooked), house made sesame seed bun, pickles as a topping (too many places here don't offer them, so I really appreciate this!). Their house made thick cut skin-on fries are excellent (crispy outside, light inside), they're included with the burger, and some onion rings are thrown in, too. The menu offers other creative sandwiches, salads, and sides, and plenty of plant-based options, but I stick with the classic. I mean, look at the photo. It could be an ad for a cheeseburger. Service is efficient and friendly, as well. I have nothing bad to say...
Read moreAuthentic Italian Delicacies! The Crab Rotini [crab meat and cheese in a small baked casserole] was so DELICIOUS! Fragrant herbs, garden fresh, infuse every bite. We had a roasted pork chop that was melt-in-the-mouth perfect with crispy edges and whole garlic cloves sautéed to perfection. We had Margarita pizzettas, delicate, delicious crispy crusts with all the best quality ingredients.
There were a number of things on the menu that I want to try, so we'll be back. The shrimp scampi looks mind-blowing. Prices on the high side, but worth every baht.
The service was great, attentive and fast. The atmosphere is impeccable, modern, professional, and comfortable. They have beer, wine, and liquor. They also have other western food, like hamburgers and breakfast items. We will...
