Note: I'm not a fan of Japanese food but I'll happily eat anything good!
A few years ago, I docked this place a star because I came primarily for the beef dishes, and the beef cook was late to work that day! By the time the cook arrived, I already had my fill of the other stuff and so the few beef dishes I had was less than satisfying.
I'm happy to say I had the pleasure to drop by again and this time the chef was around. Ha ha.
Note: this place has ala carte and buffet options. I say options, because you can choose to have a Japanese buffet or a Japanese BBQ buffet or both (each has a different price).
The wife and kids had the Japanese buffet while I went for the BBQ buffet. We had to split the table but that's ok. Note that there's a surcharge for the BBQ if you're dining alone but I fortunately had my sister in law along with us.
According to the wife, the Japanese dishes were outstanding. Salmon and other dishes are fresh. The garlic fried rice was so tasty my primary school kids ate a couple of bowls each!
My BBQ was great and it can be as beefy as you want it to be. Just order any or all the beef parts they have and grill them yourself. They don't eat much beef in Thailand, so this is a rare treat. There's pork as well, seafood, some veggie and rice. They've kimchi which was quite good.
Tea and water are extra options.
Prices here are slightly higher but the quality reflects it. They also kindly charged my kids half the adult price for the two of them (not each).
Nice ambience. It's a way out of town in a quiet neighbourhood.
All in all, it's worth it as an...
Read moreThere is a yakiniku restaurant connected to this branch a few steps away at 555 baht for the buffet. I ordered the beef set, salmon, garlic fried rice, vegetables, bacon, kimchi, and mushrooms. Each person get three types of sauces, garlic onion, seafood, and sesame.
All the different beef were plated on a huge dish, but some tasted better than others. I recommend getting brisket and short plate, which unfortunately ARE NOT on the menu! I think that by not putting these dishes on the menu, it is quite deceptive of them. You might need to ask specifically for these.
The salmon was good, and the vegetables were really fresh. The garlic fried rice was too tasteless, and didn't taste much like garlic. The kimchi tasted different from others, but it wasn't bad.
The menu is very small, but the quality is quite high. I wish they would include desserts, but they only give out watermelon at the end of the meal. The service was also quite slow and inattentive, but the servers...
Read moreDefinitely go for the buffet. We took the 899 baht option. After looking at the a la carte menu we expected to pay around the same or more so opted for buffet so we could try more food. Value for mone if you have the tummy space for it.
It's an order to serve buffet but drinks are not included.
This brinjal miso dish is something else. Something we just recently tried and definitely a dish worth trying. Some restaurants make it a bit sweeter like this one , others more umami feel but overall a very good creation.
Hot pot is included in our buffet so we had one serving only to keep our tummy space for other dishes.
Cold soba was good. I used to dislike this dish as my first experience trying this was on Thai Airways long ago. It was terrible then and I really did not know how to enjoy a cold noodle on board an already cold plane 😅
Overall food is good and come with an empty tummy to really get your money's worth 😅💰💲
