Thajeme Chom Chan is certainly one of the best - if not the best fresh Thai seafood restaurant in Chiang Mai. For a city in the Northern - they have exquisit connections and a remarkable menu. The entertainement is a oldy revival band able to play the 60s from Thai to International. They have an own boutique hotel nearby. I love it as you almost never see foreigners there (even I am an expetriate myself staying 10 years in Chiang Mai - but like to avoid places having too many foreigners). Signature dish is a mud crab stew without any residue of the "skeleton". Fish is available, Crabs, Rock Lobster, Freshwater and Ocean Prawns, Clams, Shells, Seasnails and Mussels. The (Yoghurt) ice creams are from a Thai company served in small cups and are refreshing after the spicy dressing. Without reservation you might end up in the garden - which could be a problem as of bothering insects i.e. in the raining season. So reserve a table in the small airconditioned indoor place or outdoors under the roof of the main building. Frequent visitors should have a member card - cash payers get 10 percent discount and Credit Card...
Read moreI have been visiting this place for years and always enjoy their food. Not anymore. While the food remains good, I will not return for this kind of service. If not for my husband being a Thai person, the wrong order would be forced down our throats. Tourists who cannot speak Thai...
Read more5 stars for foods. 3 stars for service. we went to Thajene 3 times.the first and second time, everything was amazing. then, the 3rd time it was busy and their service was bad that day..me and my bf went there and ordered food but, we had to wait for an hr. for our last dish. We asked "why the delay?" the first server replied "it's coming". We then waited for half an hour more, our rice got cold. We asked one of the server again and we found out they didn't make our food yet. 1hour 30mins. !!!! We got so dissapointed that we decided to leave and cancel the order. In return we recieved a 100 THB discount. (In the end we were happy not upset) hahahaha...!!
