After visiting the Golden Triangle park, my friend and I came across Sriwan Coffee & Restaurant in Chiang Rai. Drawn by the sight of other tourists enjoying their meals, we decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be a great choice!
We ordered pineapple fried rice, Tom Yum Pla, mixed seafood in coconut, and coffee. The pineapple fried rice was tasty, though the texture of the rice could have been a bit better. The mixed seafood in coconut was served creatively inside a coconut shell, with a rich, creamy flavor that was absolutely delicious. When I asked the waiter for a recommendation, he suggested the Tom Yum Pla—a unique twist on Tom Yum made with Thai herbs and fish from the Mekong River. This dish was outstanding and really refreshing, especially after our long motorbike ride from Chiang Mai.
