I recently booked Chowcher for a group of my foreign colleagues and the overall experience was satisfactory. The venue was appreciated and the food was acceptable. However, I was later surprised to receive an additional bill for room service fees. Upon inquiry, I was informed that the charge was due to a language barrier that prevented the staff from communicating the fee at the time of service.
While I understand that communication challenges can occur, it seems unreasonable to hold the customer responsible for this. I was not present during the event, and my role was limited to making the reservation. It is important for a hospitality business to ensure that all staff are adequately prepared to interact with international guests, especially in scenarios involving additional charges.
This is not the first instance of difficulties with staff communication I've encountered at Chowcher. Despite these issues, I believe in the potential of Chowcher to enhance their customer service. The venue and cuisine are commendable, and with improvements in staff training and customer interaction, I am confident that Chowcher can provide an even more enjoyable experience...
Read moreBeen wanting to dine here for a while because my wife is a cafe enthusiast so we made the trip down from Sukhumvit.
We had 2 mains: Mendake Noodles with Pork Ribs, Mendake Noodles with Tom Yum, Crispy Pork & some drinks. Loved the tom yum but the noodles with pork ribs was a real miss. Luckily we ordered the Coco Ball Pound which really saved the day! This gorgeous pandan chiffon cake came with a superbly created coconut cream centre. I have no words to describe how delicious it was. Total we spent was about $1200 baht
The service was non-intrusive and the seating is free. If you come too late in the day you may miss out on indoor seats which miss a peaceful view of the outside pond.
This cafe is ideal for digital nomads looking for a quiet place to work and stays...
Read moreExcellent environment. Beautiful lotus pond view from the cafe and relaxing music. I thought the food will be average but the omelette with rice was done extremely well, crispy omelette on the outside, soft eggy on the inside, very well seasoned and does not feel oily. I guess they must have drained or dabbed the oil before serving it on thai fragrant rice, the rice is very high quality every grain is whole and slight chew in the middle of each grain. The coconut cake is good too for the price. Highly recommend to sit by the window bar to enjoy view of the lotus pond while eating. Staff is friendly, speaks very limited English but there’s picture for most items so it’s not a problem to communicate and Google translate always work. Place is very clean and cosy. I...
