Taste: Here’s where our tale takes a turn. My wife’s beef hot dog had a ‘distinctive’ flavor, an idiosyncrasy we initially attributed to personal taste. However, a shared bite of my Philly steak sandwich led to a consensus - a peculiar taste veiled by the generous sauce. While taste is subjective, it’s the aftermath that truly colored our experience.

Post-Dinner Episode: The evening concluded with a less than desirable turn of events. Around 11:00 PM, symptoms akin to a culinary misadventure began to surface - nausea, diarrhea, and fever, leading us to seek medical attention.

Reflection: Every establishment has its off days, and perhaps we unluckily chanced upon one. It’s crucial for places that delight our palates to remember the immense responsibility they carry - the health of their patrons. A gentle reminder that sometimes, a bad day in the kitchen can lead to more than just a forgettable meal.

We used to be a permanent customers, came every Saturday, but started this year quality dropped badly, which is a shame.

So, we came yesterday to have some comfort food and nice atmosphere, because that is what this place was.

1. my order was wrong twice. I ordered lychee side (repeated twice) and got just soda, but then they changed it. I asked for medium rare burger and got an over cooked one. Got changed

2. burger quality is down badly. What was that meat? It looks like paper, old grey absolutely horribly cooked meat. I had a very bad stomach after and I didn’t even finish it. Fries are good though, as usual.

3. they couldn’t accept card, cause their machine wasn’t working. No one told us about it before we ordered. What if we don’t have phone with us and can’t transfer and no cash? WhT would you do in this situation? There is no atm anywhere around. Would you make us to drive? Lovely.

Edit. Came here yesterday and we dined in. This is great food well worth the drive. Well worth 5 stars and more.

Went on a Saturday at 2 pm and Route 66 was packed. If your looking for some authentic American diner food Route 66 is for you. My only regret I had to use carry out. I would highly recommend dining in. We ordered the Philly Cheese Steak with fries, mozzarella cheese sticks and chocolate milk shake. Philly was on point very authentic tasting. Only thing lacking is the original hoagie bread. Again, very delicious. As I said, had take out by the time we ate the cheese sticks they cooled so the cheese was not creamy. The marinnara sauce was great though. The milk shake could have been more thicker. It was more like chocolate milk. The staff was hustling and the owner took his time to speak with me.
