Maru Korean Restuarnt offers koerean barbecue or 고기구이, (gogi-gui, "meat roast") of grilling beef and pork prepared by you on a portable gas stoves grills at your individual dining table. Maru features a thick sliced beef brisket, which is not marinated, tender and delicious. Also is featured Samgyeopsal, made of thicker strips of unsalted pork belly that has rippkes of fatty areas and is very tender. Maru Gogi-gui comes with various banchan (side dishes), like kimchi, andA green onion salad called pajeori and a fresh vegetable dish including lettuce, cucumbers, and peppers invariably accompany the meat dishes at restaurants. A popular way of eating Korean barbecue is to wrap the meat with lettuce and add condiments such as pajoeri (spicy scallion salad) and ssamjang (a spicy paste made of doenjang mixed with gochujang). But my favorite at Maru is the bbq sauce paste that is delicious and you can refill as much as you want. We grilled our beef and pork belly in whole thick slices and when it was a sizzling golden brown we sliced the bbq with scissors into bite size pieces. Then we enjoyed wrapping beef in lettuce with bbq paste and roasted garlicfor an amazing explosion of flavor, washed down with beer or soju. The price is reasonabley inexpensive in addition.
