I don’t often come across Indian vegetarian restaurants that know what a vegan diet entails, so I found myself pleasantly surprised when the staff assured me that they could make many dishes vegan on request. Some of the junior staff do get confused - attempting to serve me raita, for example - but the senior staff generally know how to accommodate vegan requests.
I’ve eaten here many times over the course of my three-week stay in the neighbourhood, and I can confidently rank this one of my favourite restaurants outside of my home country. I especially enjoyed their aloo palak (have it with their corn pulav!), dal makhani, khao soi, tom kha (“creamy tom yam” on the menu), and tom yam fried rice - see my reviews of individual dishes in the Updates section. 😋 Even my Thai hospital coordinator said their dishes looked really good. The staff treated me warmly and respectfully throughout - especially the tall manager who welcomed me when I stood outside browsing their menu for the first time - despite my face looking like a blobfish for much of my stay due to the surgery I'd just had.
Would love to return to try out more of their extensive menu should I find myself back in the area in future, and I’d definitely keep an eye out for their other branches in Pattaya and...
Read moreI am not gonna lie, this has to be one of the best Indian restaurants in Bangkok at the moment!
Staff and manager are very down to Earth, and honestly every dish they made are truly a banger.
Because all of their dishes are great, might be really difficult to choose what dish to eat. Highly recommend veg Maharaja, really new and delicious to eat.
In terms of ambience, it’s pretty mehhh, BUT, that means for an Indian restaurant, the place has got to be a banger. Plus, the prices are hella reasonable, so that just makes it even better!
There is parking but it’s limited, and when the place gets crowded, parking gets quite difficult to do so. But that shouldn’t even stop you from coming to this place. It’s an amazing restaurant!
Trust me if you are in Bangkok and you want some authentic food that all Indian locals in Bkk always go to, better come to...
Read moreWOW !!! the best vegetarian Indian food we tried outside India. Such lovely taste and variety! We first tried their second restaurant in Pattaya (3 Idiots) and were blown away by the refined taste and selection, especially all starters and chaat. But everything we tried is so good, the breads, curries, ... Service was attentive, our group was very well looked after by the friendly staff. You can also order take away on grab, but make sure to pick the right Vrindavan restaurant in Sathorn (not the one in Sukhumvit, that is totally different - we made that mistake..) The food was so good it was gone before I could take pictures ;) will add next time. Try them out, you will not be...
