Blue’s Bar Club & Restaurant Khon Kaen — Restaurant in Khon Kaen Province

Very much a deterioration since pre-covid. The few times I came to KK during the pandemic, the place was shutdown (and quiet rightly) but upon my second trip to KK in 2023, my first to Blues Bar since late 2019, the food quality was a massive disappointment. It wasn't busy and, I expect, like my four or five previous visits the "Big English" or "American" breakfasts were the go. I went the Eggs Benedict. It was like someone had seen a photo and tried to emulate it. Yes, of course I ate it. For 225 baht, you'd be silly not to. One egg was runny; one firm. The sourdough(?) bread was tough as an old boot so I was glad I was given a steak knife. And what was supposed to be Hollandaise sauce was, um, something... Coffee was good when I finally got it. Seventeen minutes between asking for the bill and finally going inside to get it. Toilet dirty and lacking paper. The waitress was fine, although a bit lethargic and seemed lacking in enthusiasm in not just her work, but life in general. I hope, as the poor international tourism in Thailand picks up, those of us that actually live here and helped the country as much as we could by spending domestically during 2020-2022, that service and food quality improves. Wonderful breakfast, kind waitress ( speaks English ) , my order was exactly what I had asked for. Clean interior , outside shaded area as well. So many meal choices for bfast, lunch & dinner and all served all day beginning now at 8am ! See you again soon , Greg ! Had a great breakfast here - including Cumberland sausages! Whilst not exactly Cumberland sausages, they were certainly very good English style sausages!

Price was 145 baht for 2 Cumberland sausages, 2 pieces of bacon, fried egg and toast. There are similar priced ones that also include a free coffee or tea. And many different choices from around 100 - 200 baht.

Unfortunately the coffee machine was not working when I went, so had to go elsewhere for coffee, but overall it was a good breakfast and the service was good too.

Point to improve - would be nice if they gave you a glass of water. And fix the coffee machine and/or get filter coffee in...
