Patty's Secret Garden in Koh Lanta is quite the enigma. Nestled amidst the tropical panorama, this gastronomic haven stands as a testament to the magical confluence of ambience, service, and spectacular cuisine.
The moment you enter, you're welcomed by a chorus of chirping cicadas and a gentle rustle of leaves, which escorts you into an enchanting setting. The restaurant is more of a green oasis than a traditional eatery, the epitome of serenity and calm that Koh Lanta is celebrated for.
The service echoes Patty's charm, enveloping you in a cocoon of warmth and hospitality that sets the stage for the remarkable feast to follow.
Every dish that emerges from Patty's kitchen is a testament to the commitment to quality and flavour. From perfectly balanced Thai classics to innovative fusion creations, the menu is a journey through a labyrinth of sublime tastes and textures. It's the kind of place where you don't just eat; you embark on a gastronomic adventure.
The secret to Patty's Secret Garden, however, is its ability to present complex flavours in the most unpretentious manner. The food isn't just well-prepared. It's soulful, echoing the very ethos of Thai cuisine – fresh ingredients, robust flavours, and a delicate balance of spices.
Though nearly perfect, Patty's Secret Garden stops just short of the five-star rating. It's not due to a lack of culinary expertise or warmth, but rather a sense that there's always room for more. More innovation, more fusion, more magic.
Nevertheless, Patty's Secret Garden remains a gastronomic gem in Koh Lanta. It's a place where the beauty of nature, the kindness of humans, and the richness of food come together to create an extraordinary dining experience. As the sun dips below the horizon, and the fairy lights begin to twinkle, you realise you're not just in a restaurant; you're in a slice of Koh...
Read moreJust finished a 10 day stay at Pattys and what an absolute pleasure it was. Jeed, the owner, is a ray of sunshine so are the rest of the team. My family (2 adults 2 children 8 & 10) stayed in the double bamboo hut, it was charming with a shaded outside space provided shelter from the sun. It was hot but this was to be expected and we were happy with the fan. Neither me or my husband enjoy sleeping with mozzie nets so we bought plug in insect repellers from the local shop which meant we didn't need them making it a more comfortable for sleeping. Big C, 7eleven and pharmacies are all with walking distance for essentials Inc the plug ins we used.
The location is stunning with chilled out beach vibes. There's formal dinning tables as well as laid back shaded areas and hammocks. During our stay there were 2 brilliant fire shows and live music nights.
We ate/drank at Patty's several times during our trip. The menu is great with a mix of Thai and western dishes our favourites were fried papaya salad, fried laab, Khao Soi, veg spring rolls, Pad Thai (the best we had during our 4 week Thailand trip), steak, blue cheese burger (gosh we've missed European cheese) and the full breakfast (including really yummy sausages). As well as great food the cocktail and wine menu didn't disappoint!
At times the restaurant was super busy, the staff worked hard to keep everyone happy. Sometimes things take slightly longer to come out but we have found this to be the case with a lot of busy places in Thailand, some people have left comments of waiting times etc but we found if you approach the staff they are friendly and more than happy to help.
Thank you Jeed and team, we hope to see you again...

In short. Great food, location and price.
Talking about the food first. The curries here? Absolutely incredible. Each one we tried was a flavor explosion. 💥
Moving on to the veggie burger, 🍔 it's fantastic on its own, and those extra toppings just take it to another level.
As for the fish, 🐟 it's the best I've had in a long while – perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. I don’t usually eat at fried fish but prefer it grilled. But the way they seal in the sauce by frying it was delicious!
The starters deserve a shoutout too. The salmon with wasabi is a unique and tasty choice, and the prawn salad is just delicious. It's a great way to kick off your meal.
Now, onto the drinks. The wine here is surprisingly good, especially considering the price. And if you're up for something tropical, their piña coladas are just the thing – they're amazing!
I have to mention the staff as well. They're absolutely wonderful, super friendly, and a pleasure to talk to. They really add to the overall great vibes of this place.
The location is perfect, right on the beach. Pattys Secret Garden offers a variety of seating areas, so you can choose whatever fits your mood. Whether you want a cozy corner or a spot with a view, they've got you covered.
The menu is diverse, catering to all tastes, but everything is prepared to perfection. Trust me, this place is a must-visit in Koh Lanta. We can't...
