Uncle Chang Kitchen Authentic Pad Thai — Restaurant in Ko Samui

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. From the food, to the ambience, to the really kind staff, what more could you possibly want. This restaurant became our local whilst we stayed here, we came here at least 3 times a week, easily more. There’s so much variety and different foods you can try. It was my mission to try it all by the end of the holiday. Foods I would recommend is the chicken fried rice, might sound boring but honestly mr chan knows how to cook an amazing chicken fried rice, no chicken fried rice compares to it. Any of the curry’s are also amazing. Defo have to try the Tom yum soup, my god. Secret menu is to ask to add glass noodles in it, makes a more filling but super nice meal. The restaurant had a calm and relaxing vibe to it, the staff are so incredibly nice and welcoming, the price is so amazing for the quality you get as well. Super affordable for families or even if you just go as a couple or a solo date. Also the fish dishes are so good as well!!! You can really see the passion that mr chan has behind the food he cooks and his whole team work super hard to deliver...

We stumbled upon this place without high expectations, but were absolutely blown away. Every dish that came to the table was full of depth, balance, and — above all — soul. The flavors were pure, the preparation honest, and the ingredients incredibly fresh. No frills, no gimmicks — just genuinely great food.

If you go (and you really should), I highly recommend the garlic pork or garlic chicken with rice — absolutely packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. And don’t skip the vegetarian spring rolls either: crispy, light, and bursting with freshness — some of the best I’ve had anywhere.

In short: Uncle Chan is a culinary memory I’ll hold onto. An absolute must-visit on Koh Samui — and perhaps the best meal I’ve had...
