The Pier Yao Yai Cafe and Restaurant by Baan Taranya Resort restaurant is located on the hotel premises. Which is very cozy, quiet, peaceful and very tastefully designed. The chef's fresh breakfast omelette, which he prepares in front of you, is heavenly. But in addition, they provided a large selection of breakfast buffets. What else I would highlight is the pancake! Every morning! We had dinner at their place 8 times out of 8 nights. There were 2 reasons for this: We tasted everything that caught our eye on the menu. Fantastic flavors and delicious presentation. The chef also prepared our extra requests. 🫶 Most of the waiters only spoke minimal English, so there were sometimes funny misunderstandings, which they immediately accepted and apologized for. This was never a problem for us. The one I want to highlight is Chris. The best waiter. He speaks good English so he was able to recommend food. He always helped out his colleagues. Precise, attentive, kind, helpful and maximalist. He decided to do so in order to make the guest feel as good as possible. He always asked our opinion openly and did everything to get better and better. For our romantic dinner, he created a special little shelter, beautifully decorated. It was awesome. The restaurant welcomes not only hotel guests, but everyone. So if you choose the island of Koh Yao Yai, then definitely have a dinner at The Pier Yao Yai Cafe and Restaurant by Baan Taranya Resort restaurant and look for Chris! Chris...

The fresh fish and shrimp sourced directly from the sea are standout highlights. The menu also features authentic Thai dishes, like the rich gaeng som with shrimp and the iconic tom yum, both perfectly balanced in flavor. Don’t miss the กล้วยบวชชี—a delightful dessert of bananas in creamy coconut milk, making for a sweet ending to your meal.
