Serious question, "Why isn't this place packed all the time!?"
The best meal we had in Koh Yao Yai, and top 3 in Thailand overall! Not only that, this was the only restaurant we stumbled upon in Koh Yao Yai without the "tourist" prices. My husband and I was feeling a little beat down after a few days of constantly faced w outrageous pricing on the island for food, even the hole-in-the-wall establishments. We're willing to pay for good food, but really don't like the feeling of being ripped off because we're foreigners.
It's family-run--so kind, accommodating, and hospitable. You can tell they love what they do, because at one point, I was watching them through the kitchen door, and 4 people hovered over preparing the food and putting final touches on the dishes.

Besides, that we thought they did not understand what we ordered as main dish (it seemed they brought us something different than ordered) the food was below average.
