SALASA HALAL RESTAURANT KHAOYAI — Restaurant in Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Why 3 stars (please read):

1. Location is great, near attractions. However, restaurant is located next to a timber factory. The workers were cutting wood and can see sawdust flying in the air. Please sit indoors.
2. Many flies means dirty. We are not used to eating with flies in our country.
3. Food and drinks were mediocre. Carbonara too watery and bland with just few slices of chicken ham (2 children can share). Fried rice a bit hard. Phad thai too sweet. Green curry chicken very watery taste like soup consistency rather than curry, with very few thin slices of chicken. Eat with thin slices of roti. Price ok for tourist but not worth it in my opinion.
4. Pay Cash or QR only. Credit card not accepted. Not sure why our local banks do not allow QR payment to personal acc. Only to business acc can transfer. So my fellow SGP'reans, do prepare lots of cash to Khao Yai. Majority of the merchants do not have credit card machines. We ended up need to withdraw money from ATM because ran out of cash.

We absolutely loved Salasa Restaurant in Khao Yai! I came with my family, including two kids, and it quickly became our go-to place for halal food during our stay — we kept coming back! We even ordered food one evening to enjoy back at the hotel.

The red tom yum is bursting with flavour, and the green curry is perfectly balanced and comforting. My kids loved the spaghetti with minced chicken, and my personal favourite was the rice with fried chilli beef and omelette — so satisfying.

The Thai green milk tea, made by one of the sisters there, is the best I’ve had — and she’s such a kind and welcoming person, mashaAllah. The service is excellent, with a warm kampung vibe. The restaurant is clean, including the toilets, and there's a surau for Muslim guests to pray — such a thoughtful touch.

Set in a natural environment, surrounded by trees this is a quiet restaurant serving halal food. There is also camping facilities with activities for campers. We ordered Thai Chicken Green curry fried rice, Thais basil beef fried rice and Thai beef green curry among other items. These three items were very nice and tasty 👌🏽.
