I recently returned to my once-favorite Italian restaurant, excited to indulge in the authentic flavors I had come to love. However, since my last visit, significant changes have occurred due to a new owner, and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to my expectations.
Upon entering, I noticed that the menu had expanded quite a bit, offering a wide variety of Italian dishes that promised to satisfy every craving. The prices were reasonable for the location and the quality of the ingredients used, which initially gave me hope. However, I soon realized that the restaurant had shifted towards a Thai-style Italian fusion, which was a surprising turn from the traditional offerings I once enjoyed.
Sadly, my meal left much to be desired. The pork chop I ordered was dry and lacked the juicy, flavorful essence I had anticipated. The anchovy pasta, which I hoped would offer a delightful balance of flavors, was instead overloaded with chili seeds, resulting in an unsettling heat that overpowered the dish. The Caprese salad, typically a refreshing classic, was inundated with garlic, which altered its traditional simplicity. Lastly, the Bolognese pasta was disappointingly bland, falling flat in comparison to the rich and robust flavors I remembered.
On a positive note, the truffle soup was a highlight of the meal, showcasing the potential of what the kitchen can achieve. The service was attentive and friendly, a bright spot in an otherwise lackluster dining experience.
Regrettably, this visit left me disheartened. I had high hopes of rediscovering a beloved eatery, only to find it transformed into something entirely different, lacking the authentic Italian flavors I once adored. While I appreciate the effort to diversify the menu, it seems that the essence of the restaurant has been lost in translation. I doubt I will return again, as I long for the taste that captured my...

Otherwise good service and atmosphere is a bit dark and depressing, with 5 songs...
