Lung Sawai Restaurant: A Jomtien Classic Today, fortune smiled upon me, granting a prime beachfront table at Lung Sawai Restaurant, a venerable establishment on the far end of Jomtien Beach, with a history spanning 20 to 30 years. I visited at midday. The sun was intense, but a cool breeze kept the atmosphere delightful. Highlights from the Meal The Steamed Seafood Curry in a Young Coconut (ห่อหมกทะเลในลูกมะพร้าว) was a standout. Initially, the coconut shell limits the amount of curry inside, but they cleverly compensate by adding a large, dense, and firm patty of steamed curry on top. This ingenious solution ensures you get plenty of the rich, flavorful curry, which has a texture reminiscent of a thick, chewy fish cake, but steamed to perfection. we only came here because the crab restaurant next door was full of people. We ordered tom yum, khao pad and shrimp in batter. The food tasted below average. Even khao pad in cheap street restaurants is cooked a hundred times better. When they brought us the bill and we paid, left a tip and were about to leave, a group of waiters came to us and told us that they made a mistake and gave us more change than they should have. When we asked how much they were wrong, they did not answer, they just continued to insist that they gave us more change than they should have. I specially asked if I can only drink something. I ordered a mango smoothie, my partner a strawberry smoothy which came first with whipped cream on top (?) I never got my drink. Another waiter looked on the bill and must have thought that I don't want to drink anything which I specially asked for. Since I am totally not in the mood to upset myself I leave it. A smoothie with whipped cream does not taste nice when I nipped from my partners plastic bowl, with litter and straw. Waste of a nice spot. Could have been a Bali like spot, with a garden and beds.
