Salt Pattaya Restaurant — Restaurant in Pattaya City

After so much hype in reviews, and after getting turned away as a weekend breakfast walk-up last visit, we went to Salt for the breakfast buffet.

We came away unimpressed.

If you are a hotel guest there, knock yourself out. A decent breakfast, particularly if included. If you are coming from outside, perhaps reconsider, particularly at 400 baht+ per person.

Service was klunky and confusing. Kept emphasizing “buffet only,” then handed us a menu without explanation, even to those in our party fluent in Thai. Turns out menu was very short, covering 3-4 ways you could order eggs. The buffet itself was OK. We’ve had better food quality at some 200 baht- expat dives in Jomtien. I’ve never, anywhere, had tough bacon before.

What the draw is, and what you are paying for, is the view of the sea and the air conditioning.

Great place to eat, prices definitely in the $$$ range but still reasonable for a fancy beach restaurant, the scenery and decoration is nice I like the modern design, food takes some time about 30minutes for shrimp tacos and burger but it’s made fresh so worth the wait, drinks are pricey but excellent, definitely a place to visit if your wallet is up for the task. :Edit: After eating, I have to say it was definitely a good experience, and the owner/service came constantly to ask about the experience and taste. Great food TERRIBLE SERVICE! I asked for the soup to have the shrimp and lobster de shelled. They said sure. Then, when it came, it was all with shells on. You have to put your fingers in the soup and remove the shells to eat now, making a mess. They then brought it back with NO LOBSTER and 1 shrimp with the shell still on it. My wife had her meal brought out 15 minutes before mine, so now I had to watch her eat, and she is almost done while I eat, and she waits on me. VERY POOR SERVICE!
