Peaky Blinders is inside the Pattaya Heights Residence condominium and is probably Pattaya's best kept culinary secret. I've long held the view that it's hard to get a bad meal in Thailand, until I visited Pattaya. So many average to poor dining experiences... but Peaky Blinders broke the mould, serving easily the best meal and dining experience I had in Pattaya.
I was staying very nearby and actually shortlisted it when scouting for places on arrival but I noticed the kitchen closes early for dinner (7.30pm at the time of writing). Some clown actually gave them a 1 star review for this, because they turned up and couldn't order food, despite the fact the kitchen times are clearly signposted on this Google listing.
I had the burger which, while not the greatest burger I've ever eaten, was flavourful, clearly made fresh and well worth the price. It came more on the medium well side than the medium the waitress quoted but you know a burger is good when you wolf it down despite it being cooked beyond your preference.
I'd have loved to have tried some of the other dishes which look great in the photos that other reviewers have published. The lamb shank in particular looked really appetising. The tables either side of me enjoyed their burritos and Reuben sandwiches.
I had a brief chat with the friendly American owner who was working the tables and took pride in ensuring every table was taken care of and enjoying their meals.
They are one of those commendable businesses that do accept cards without any extra fees, however, I had issues paying with my Starling Mastercard on their card machine. It's not the first time in Thailand the card has had issues with that particular type of machine (Boost juice chains don't like it either) so something to bear in mind if you're trying to go cashless. Maybe bring a spare card or actual cash,...
Read moreDefinitely one of the best places in Pattaya! Friendly staff, and most importantly, the owner is almost always present at the venue. He is very welcoming and hospitable. It's admirable when an owner manages their business this way. Atmosphere: Dim lighting, an interesting and cozy design (check out the visor collection!). Here, I can enjoy a meal in a friendly, homey atmosphere. Food: Absolutely delicious! If you’re unsure what to order, ask the owner, he will definitely guide you to the most delicious dishes from the menu. My family and I have tried almost everything, and all of it is very tasty, but I especially recommend these dishes: Baked halibut (a perfect blend of flavors) Beef sliders (juicy little burgers, very cute and tasty. Their flavor is complemented by the pickles, which taste exactly like my grandma’s—delightful!) The Reuben (looks so appetizing that it makes you even hungrier. Go for it if you want a hearty meat-filled dinner) Kentucky wings (perfectly breaded, the meat falls off the bone, and the sauce is great). Be sure to add potatoes on the side.
Don't forget to ask about the dessert of the day, as it changes often. The most beloved dessert among all my friends is...
Read moreSuper tasty dinner at Peaky Blinders.
We’ve heard so many good things about this restaurant that we had to try it. Wow! It was every bit as good as the recommendations suggested.
We had the famous PB burger, with a 200gram Wagyu beef patty, and as side of shoestring fries (included). The burger was cooked to perfection and the seasoning just right. The fries were crispy and also seasoned perfectly (in Thailand they are quite often plain out of the oil without any salt added).
Our second dish was a Halibut with a Cajun rub served on a mushroom risotto with a side of vegetables, topped with a cheese crisp made from parmesan and likely 1-2 other cheese types. This dish was even better than the burger. The halibut was cooked to the point, the Cajun rub added perfect flavoring and just the right level of heat. The risotto was a bit on the liquid side and not as creamy as I like it, however the taste was top notch.
Overall, a very good dinner in a nice and cozy setting. And the owner E.T. was making sure we were well taken care of and felt truly welcome at his restaurant. We will definitely...
