8fish — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

This is one of the very first reviews on Google I've posted, and with a reason. This is a place to cherish. A stunning location at a beautiful and peaceful beach, very good food for a reasonable price, but above all a place ran by nice people who go the extra mile for their customers!

Given the fact we were staying at a nearby hotel at the beach which was only a short stroll away, we ate twice at 8 Fish. The first time however we were surprised by a sudden thunderstorm with fierce winds and very heavy rain, causing a power outage and people running back and forth trying to keep everything in place. What happened next? They just kept cooking our meals using gas and headlights, they attached one above our table as well together with some candles on it, and gave us some delicious meals with a smile. Knowing a walk at the beach could be dangerous in these bad weather conditions, the owner offered us a ride with his car back to our hotel. He refused any tip we wanted to give him after this kind gesture, saying he was glad to give us this service.

Peaceful outdoor restaurant on the beach. We went around 5pm and had the whole place to ourselves. So relaxing watching the beautiful sky and sea. We had a few cocktails and the green chicken curry with rice. The most flavourful food we’ve had from all the beach restaurants we’ve tried. The pina colada was very good. Slightly disappointed there were no coconuts, listed as permanently sold out on the menu. Male and female toilet, clean and with toilet paper. Saw a ton of hermit crabs when we were leaving. Worst meal I’ve had in Khao Lak. The chicken larb was bland and did not bring the heat that is required in the dish with fresh chilli but instead used dried chilli powder. The second dish was green curry with chicken with medium heat, but instead was just sweet and the only part I enjoyed was the loads of veggies in the dish. Also for price point is more expensive than surrounding restaurants by the beach. Recommend to go down the road to Andaman Restaurant for better...
