The Chada Café is a nice little place right on the main street of Koh Yao Yai with a sea view.
You can sit inside or outside and there is a selection of Thai dishes as well as desserts such as toast, pancakes, waffles and ice cream. There are also smoothies, shakes and cold drinks.
We were here twice during our time on Koh Yao Yai. The kiwi-apple smoothie (without ice, without sugar, with yoghurt) is particularly delicious and highly recommended. This smoothie was unbelievably delicious and, along with the waffles (which taste almost as good as in Europe, which is really hard to find in Thailand), one of the reasons why we came here again.
The toasties are actually "just" normal toast (as we know it from Germany) and then topped with Nutella or other things. The waffles, on the other hand, are delicious and are lovingly prepared and served with fruit, ice cream and whipped cream.
On our second visit, we tried an ice cream (brownie/chocolate). This was huge, also delicious and had a consistency that is difficult to describe. Somehow fluffy and airy but still firm.
The staff are nice and we were quite happy here. The prices are absolutely fine and it's a really great place to sit.
I can therefore recommend the Chada Café.
PS: if you want to hire a good scooter for the island, you can do so right next to the Chada Café. We were very satisfied! We paid 500 Baht for one day and got a really good scooter with good breaks, good wheels...
Read moreI came to this café based on the positive reviews, but my experience was far from what I expected. The food was not good, and the service was extremely disappointing. I waited over an hour for my order, only to find out that the staff had completely forgotten about it. When I approached them to ask why it was taking so long, they didn’t even apologize but simply said they would prepare my order in a while. I then had to wait another 40 minutes before I could finally eat. This level of service is unacceptable, and I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreI don't really know what to say... the space is nice and the food is OK, it has a very nice view and it's the only one like it around.
but the service is really slow and not good! To order, I had to go to the counter and my boyfriend and I happened to be "lucky" and both his cafe mocca and my smothie arrived quickly, as did the pancakes, which took about 30 minutes. but around us people waited around 30/40 minutes to have a smoothie and another around 2 hours to have food!!! It's cool but if you come here, be...
