There are not many places in Khao Lak where one can get a real cappuccino. Enter the Gelato 39 Italian Ice-cream café, located on the road that goes from the main thoroughfare of Khao Lak to Bang Niang beach. The thing is, the café is run by an Italian fellow and he obviously takes pride in making sure the quality of the drinks and the desserts are of a high standard. There are also cakes to be had, such as Tiramisu and a hearty cheesecake. Of course, there are heaps of ice-creams, as the name of the restaurant would suggest. I had a go at the Tiramisu on one occasion and the cheesecake on another, followed both times by a cappuccino. I have also tried several ice-creams, all delicious. Italian gelatoria on the sleepy streets of Khao Lak. We walked through the Bang Niang market to get there. We sampled the home made tiramisu, salted caramel and cheesecake. We’d already enjoyed the Nutella at our hotel, which they supply to but it’s a million times the price. We each had two scoops in a waffle cone, Nutella and tiramisu.
