Green Pepper Khao Lak Restaurant — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

I left before I even had a chance to order. We were seated at a table that was half in the sun, so I asked if we could move to the shade since it was the middle of the day and quite hot. The restaurant was completely empty, yet the request was met with a sigh, which felt a bit odd.

When I asked if the pizza could be made gluten-free, the waiter checked with the kitchen and informed me that it wasn’t possible (though the Swedish meatballs were gluten free for anyone wondering). He then wanted to take our order, but since we had originally planned on getting pizza, we asked for a few more minutes to decide. In response, he let out an even bigger sigh, turned around, and—despite me not speaking Thai—started speaking to his colleague while shaking his head in a way that made it clear he wasn’t saying anything nice.

Maybe we weren’t the easiest guests this time, but I don’t think wanting to move to the shade or needing a minute to rethink our order should make us feel like a burden—especially in an empty restaurant. I hope he was just having a bad day, but overall, the service...

Stayed in Khao Lak for 2 weeks with my two brothers and Mum, and went to Green Pepper for dinner almost every night. They are the best value restaurant in the town. The chicken satay is the best we’ve ever tried, and only 100thb, and the portion sizes are generous. Nothing could have prepared me for the quality of their food having seen the price - it was incredible! Almost every night we had 5 mains, 2 starters, a side dish, and multiple drinks, and it was never above 1600thb (about £30!!!!). The service was incredible. The drinks arrived whilst the waitress was still taking our food order - and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for our meals. All of the staff were lovely, and remembered us each night. Absolutely amazing food and service!

Super hot day and after a 6km walk we just wanted to eat and cool off. Once we arrived, we were greeted warmly and had 3 fans specifically turned on just for us.

We ordered a seafood feast and every single dish was fresh and oh, so tasty! Namely the squid, crab in yellow curry, prawns, and their sweet and sour dipping sauce tantalised every single taste bud.

Highly recommend this respected establishment and will be returning many more times.
